During the 2014-15 school year students participated in "TEAM Homework" which gave them the choice on what they wanted to do as "homework" each night. Some students completed 3-4 activities, while some only completed 1. Un-Homework is a very similar concept, but with a few changes.
Un-Homework still gives students choices on what activities they want to complete each week, but there is no negative consequences if they do not participate. Students who participate will get to fill out their *Ticket* and turn into the Learning Lotto.
Un-Homework has INCENTIVES for students who take their learning to the next level. Once students have completed a choice on their Un-Homework page, they will fill in the circle next to their choice and fill out the *Ticket* (their number and a parent initial is required). Students will turn in all *Tickets* into our Learning Lotto for a chance to win a prize. In order to have the best shot at winning the lotto, a student should turn in as many *Tickets* as possible.
Below are examples of prizes from the Learning Lotto: Shoe-Free Day Seat Switch Door Prize Surprise Bennett Bucks
**Prizes will be changed bi-weekly.**
I will randomly select 3-4 Learning Lotto *Tickets* every Monday and the students whose name is chosen will roll a die. The number rolled corresponds to the prizes.
Also, there is NO punishment if a student chooses not to complete the "Un-Homework".
The part that is better than the prizes is the FLEXIBILITY. Students can complete all 5 choices in one evening, do one a night, or none at all. Giving the students choices empowers them and makes them in charge of their learning.
